Studio Diary - Beading the Bridal Collection

Today is the start of the final leg of the 2014 bridal collection production. Beads and feathers scatter the carpet of the studio where I work on the collections whilst crystals and sequins are silently sewn individually to the dresses. Every time I think a dress is complete I say to myself, just a few more beads and then it really will be something special!

Coming up .... Ivory Dresses

Our Ivory 'Audrey' dresses are new in the shop.
A group first commissioned for bridesmaids last year and together they make a great collection of dresses to be worn for receptions, proms, Summer days or playing bride / bridesmaid again.
Crisp ivory silk crepe de chine and georgette illusions. Graceful, chic and quite simply elegant.

Introducing Winter 2012 .....

Introducing the New Winter Collection .....................

I have been wanting to work on this collection for ages, but with orders and never ending weddings these treats have to wait until there is a little space in the schedule. I'm so glad this possible in time for party season.
Each dress was designed fit for a ball with our classic prom dress as inspiration with it's layers of tulle and pleats. Bold iconic dots in shiny sequins are hand sewn to the dresses, I love the black on white silk Betty, especially with the glitter belt.  The mint was colour matched to the frost covered fields we get here in the Winter. The whole countryside is sprinkled with glittering ice and everything goes to these pale pastel shades with the contrast of the black skeleton trees,

We made a little video of making the collection. The music makes me think of twirling dresses at a Ball and all that tulle floating everywhere. Cheesy and very Disney like but these dresses are feeling like original Debs.

And another preview treat here is the glitter bodice up close, I could whittle away hours dancing about the studio watching it glitter in the lights ..........

Summertime Florals - Spring Summer Collection

A preview of the first dresses from the Spring Summer collection. Lots of florals, silk organdies and pretty ribbon stripes along with vintage floral cottons that I've been gathering for this collection.
Inspired by hazy fifties summers with pastel roses blooming in the garden and dirty dancing holiday camps. Imagine a slightly worn kitsch America and colourful vintage crockery in saturated pastel shades.  It's very indulgent prettiness that I think is best worn with something a bit harder edged and a grunge soundtrack playing in the background. That's  just my thoughts on styling this collection and I would love hear other ideas on this. Maybe you would up the prettiness stakes even further?
All the dresses are available ready to wear and made to order and are limited to one or two dresses made in each print.
