Shimmering Silver and Poppin' Purple Wedding Dress

I love, love, love receiving surprise photos in my in box from customers sharing their wedding snaps. When customers simply order from the online shop I don't know all the ins and outs of their wedding, we haven't spent hours discussing the wedding, the colours, the styling etc here at the studio and I have no idea what they look like.

So these are always the best surprises when I get the photos. This is the lovely Michelle and new husband Devender from Charleston in the US of A in her silver Sarah Jane dress and violet underskirts. The colour combo works so well with this silver that always picks up the shade next to it and sets the tone of the dress. It's quite magical.

I love that Michelle wore the Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon's and that fabulous floral cascading necklace that matches with her gorgeous tattoos.

This dress is one that I always wonder how it will be worn, it's designed to be off the shoulders but some people like them fixed in place and others off the shoulder, others on. With lots of boning in the bodice for support the straps are allowed to seductively fall off the shoulder every now and again teetering just on the tips and showing off that wonderful neckline. It's definitely my favourite neckline shape and Michelle wears it brilliantly.

Emerald Green Cocktail Dress

 

Our gorgeous emerald jewel green 'Betty's Big Night' dress, with sleeves, can it get any more elegant? Thank you once again to the wonderful lady who ordered this dress, it's going to be part of the Winter collection with the sleeves.

The prom photos

Just as I published the last post I received the official prom photos and not only did I squeal with excitement of just how AMAZING our prom girl looks at the prom but her gentleman friend looks suitably gorgeous too in his vintage tuxedo.
Adorable and incredibly beautiful, with the cutest Alice in Wonderland Mary Janes and cream tights. Just stunning and this is exactly why I love to make dresses, because it's my job to be rewarded with lovely looking pictures like these.  

Check out the beautiful vintage Morris Minor they used to transport them which matches the dress perfectly.   (ignore the seethingly jealous girls in background) :) x

Floral Dotty Tulle Summer Dress

Our dotty tulle summer dress has been created once again, this time for a wedding guest in the US, she's going to look quite fabulous in such pretty fabrics.
I photographed the dress whilst making and got some good shots on the dummy next to a shadow of my old ballet shoes (this is all sounding a bit overly pretty right now, the shoes were an accident that I kept in the picture!). In my squirrelling fabrics away I forgot how vibrant the print was and how great the tulle worked over prints, will have to try and order in some more of these fabrics so we can have these to order.   I wonder what shoes she will wear with the dress?

A day at the Races

This custom dress has just been posted off on it's way to Ireland ready for the races and ladies day. When I received the photo of the lady in question I instantly knew what style to get in my head and wonderfully it was Audrey, Parisian Chic and Fifties all the way.
Navy was chosen and in the flesh it's a vibrant indigo navy with a fine, bright white Guipure lace to contrast at the waist, neckline and cuffs. This was tricky to fit as there is no give in Guipure lace so it very carefully had to be hand stitched with notches that were cut and restitched binding together at the curve. The two colours work perfectly as a classic combination and should keep the fashion spectators happy at the races.
This is just a little preview and I can't wait to see the finished look.
