The Week That Was ...

We'll be sharing each week in pictures as 'The Week that Was' so you can catch a glimpse of what we're up to. Here is last week.

Gorgeous green floral Tanya Whelan cotton for cutting.

A very special yellow dress order.

It was sunny here for a while last week.
A baby pink underskirt for a bride who will now be wed!

The 'Fat Willy's' surf vest Wing bought me from his trip to Falmouth. I love this neon logo so much and will be wearing this to death. (wish they had a more enticing website though!)

The amazing box of trinkets sent to me as a thank you from What Katy Did next. The green glitter peg magnets are the perfect addition to the studio.
Anna and Laura outside the Goldbrick House tweet up hosted by the Little Wedding Helper last week. It was a fabulous evening of meeting some lovely people.

Three Floral Bridesmaids

We have just received the photos from Sasha's wedding for which we made three gorgeous fifties style sun dresses in a wonderful Tanya Whelan print.  A blue silk belt was added to trim the waist and we made matching blue underskirts to make sure those full skirts made an impact. The bridesmaids look fabulous and I love that they all have different shoes and hair.
Anna also made a matching flower girl dress that looks so adorable in the picture above. (That dog must be so little!)

Vintage Bridesmaids Dresses

I'm very excited to show you these two bridesmaids dress commissions we have just completed,  both with a 1950s theme but two very different looks.
The first is a brilliantly summery collection of halter neck fifties swing dresses with full circle skirts and blue silk pleated belts to match the blue tulle underskirts. Made in a Tanya Whelan print fabric chosen by the bride The matching flower girl dress Anna made is just adorable with the pretty ruffle hem.  I have already seen a sneak peek and one maid in her dress and they look fabulous!

The second are a sophisticated cocktail style in a beautiful cafe tulle and lace that we sourced on our trip to Singapore. (I'm still kicking myself for not buying twenty more metres of that tulle as the colour is gorgeous, I could only fit enough for these dresses in my suitcase!) Again Anna produced the prettiest flower girl dress to match, complete with dusky pink bow.
